I'm sitting at the Amsterdam airport for the next few hours (7 to be exact), and I'm thinking that traveling alone is incredibly overrated. My flight went well last night, and I had a nice guy who agreed to share the empty seat between us. I didn't sleep wonderfully because a very loud Irish flight attendant kept yelling drink orders at people, but I did sleep a little. Right now, I'm just tired, and still a little anxious, and will be very happy to finally be in Kampala tomorrow, and in a real bed at some point. I'm already missing everyone back home, but I had a great sendoff from Meg and Mary Olive surprising me and my parents at the Delta gate. Yay! So anyway, here's my list.

I'm Thankful...
1. for thunderstorms that clear out quickly. If my flight had been delayed, I think I'd be an even bigger wreck.
2. for sneaking peanut butter through security. Who knew this girl could pack an 80 pound suitcase and would have to clear stuff out?
3. for friends and family to see me off. I'm a lucky girl!
Love you all!
So glad we could be there! I am glad you got the peanut butter through. I was all prepared to come argue with the TSA people about the substantiative properties of it...and how its NOT A LIQUID...if they gave you any trouble :)
ReplyDeleteAn empty seat next to you is a good sign. Could you trade for the window? What's the most interesting thing you've seen in Amsterdam?
