I am severely lacking in my ability to keep up with my days. I apologize to the 2 of you who read this consistently :) Here goes.
I'm Thankful...
5/12/11
1. for Olivia in the shoe department of Nordstrom at Perimeter Mall. I've never actually been into Nordstrom, knowing that I can't really afford it, but she helped me find the right Toms shoes quickly, happily, and with a lot of personality. I highly recommend her!! She told me I was beautiful, told me she liked that I'm a quick shopper, and gave me a hug and a high five. I liked her style.
2. for my dry cleaners on the corner of Ashford Dunwoody and Johnson Ferry. Linda knows my name there, and I had a little moment on Thursday when I realized I might be leaving a town in which people now know me for a town full of strangers. *sigh.
3. for good friends who share pizza and make you laugh.
5/13/11 (FYI, there was not a lot to be thankful for on Friday the 13th. My day lived up to its name.)
1. for a cute kid who I've taken care of for years. He said he liked my hair, I have a big nose, and he wants to marry me so I can make him grilled cheese. All good things :)
2. for coworkers who stand with me for 30 minutes trying to figure out how to get bubbles out of a stupid bag of blood until you both hit the point of frustration where you may want to lock yourself in the bathroom and cry for a minute (It didn't get to that point, but I was on the brink).
3. for cheesy Disney movies that help me zone out after a bad day at work.
4. for understanding friends who forgive me for chewing them out after a bad day. I gave him Target cheese balls, and I was forgiven.
5/14/11
1. for winning Braves games. I loved spending time with my sister and friends in the perfect Saturday baseball weather.
2. for the entire series of Daria on DVD. Meg told me to buy it to give me something different to watch when I get bored/lonely in Uganda.
3. for best friends to wander Wal-mart with me for an hour while I buy everything I might need in the next 2 months. It was both sobering and entertaining all at the same time.
*One thing I am not thankful for is my upstairs neighbor's obnoxious black cat. He's hissed at me before, and he scared us last night as he knocked two of my plants off of the railing, breaking one pot, and spilling the other into the bushes. I wanted to get a BB gun and shoot it, but Colleen talked me down. I hate cats.
That's all I've got for today. I'll keep you posted!
Meg = Daria
ReplyDeleteAshley - I only wish I was as cool as Daria. Maybe I need the boots.
ReplyDeleteWalmart was fun. But you should've gotten the white knee-highs.
