I think this might become my theme song while I'm away. Anyway today was a lovely day of getting caught up on life and errands and shopping. Tomorrow is the day I'm cleaning stuff out of my closet! That is genuine excitement. Other than that, going straight to the list.

I'm Thankful...
1. That Meg sent me a packing list full of advice, along with several texts, phone calls, and emails to assure me that I am still at least mildly sane, and that my worries about the summer are justified. It made me feel 1000 times better, even though I feel homesick daily now, and I haven't even left yet.
2. for finding a random poem my dad sent me from one of his books years ago. It's about a father and daughter and the last line of it says "literature and opera are full of characters who die for love, I stay alive for her." It's definitely being added to the packing list.
3. for my sister Ashley, who is being brave enough to try a different type of career, knowing full well that Amy and I might tease her mercilessly. She sells Mary Kay, and I swear, she was the best looking one at this event tonight, so if you need advice on how to look and feel good, she's got you covered. There are a lot of things I don't like about Mary Kay, but you've got to hand it to them, they make women feel beautiful and confident, and I can't find anything wrong with that.
